Stress Eating, Money and Weight

Stress eating, money and weight issues have a lot in common – 1st – they  run on scarcity – the stress, fear and anxiety of not having enough.

Many people are walking around with this sort of poverty mentality, even if they DO have “enough” – it never feels like enough, so you keep striving for more and it keeps you in anxiety stress mode most of the time.

You are always afraid that it won’t last or that it will somehow disappear – especially if you’ve had that experience it the past – it teaches you that you can never relax.

The more your life is run by fear, anxiety and stress, the more you are going to have difficulty losing weight.

Think about it – if there were no fear, there would be no stress, and everything would be a LOT easier.

What’s the first thing you want to do when you feel anxious – eat, drink, smoke or shop?

Many people will cope with stress by substituting 1 compulsive behavior for another – if you aren’t using food to soothe the anxiety (stress eating) and to feel good, then something else has to take it’s place – because stress, anxiety and fear are uncomfortable.

And when we turn those fears into beliefs, they stay charged up in our subconscious mind energetically; running our behavior and we may not even realize it.

For instance, I’m from a small town, and I had this belief that I can only achieve a certain amount because I am a “small town girl.”

And those are the most insidious beliefs of all – the ones that start with “I am . . .” Those are your identity beliefs – the ones about who you believe yourself to be. But they can also be changed – the words “I am” are 2 of the most powerful words in our vocabulary, because if you can change who you believe yourself to be, then everything follows from that.

Weight and money tend to be 2 of the most emotionally charged issues for most people, and the 2 issues that cause the most stress.

They are both associated with struggle and things having to be hard.
Is it even possible?
Do I deserve it?
Will it last?
Having to start over
Being impatient about results

All of these beliefs and fears get in your way. It’s like trying to get through a path with a lot of vines. So if you can clear some of these beliefs that cause stress and anxiety, then it’s a lot easier to get what you want, not to mention with a lot more fun, less stress, and a lot better results.
